In compliance with Florida Statute 119.071(5) (a) 2.a., the Citrus County Tax Collectors office collects social security numbers on the following items.
The Citrus County Tax Collector’s Office collects social security numbers for the purpose of payroll eligibility verification, processing employment benefits, applicant and employee background checks, and income reporting and will be used solely for those purposes.
Business Tax Receipt Application
The Citrus County Tax Collector’s office collects social security numbers for the issuance of Business Tax Receipts in accordance with s. 205.0535(5), F.S. and Citrus County Ordinance 2006-A24.
Bidder Registration Form
The Citrus County Tax Collector’s office collects social security numbers for the purpose of 1099 IRS interest reporting.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC)
The Florida fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) collects social security numbers (SSN) for the issuance of recreational and professional fishing and hunting licenses or permits to an individual in accordance with s. 372.561 F.S. and 42 USC 666 for the purposes of administration of the Title IV-D program for child support enforcement, use by the commission, and as otherwise provided by law.
Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles – Division of Driver License
Sections 322.051(1)(a) and 322.08(2)(a), Florida Statutes, require each applicant for an identification card or driver license to provide his or her social security number. The social security number is taken for the purpose of applicant identification. This information is electronically verified with the federal Social Security Administration in order to confirm the applicant’s identity. This verification is a requirement of the Federal Real ID Act of 2005.
